Why a flatbed instead of a hook-and-chain truck

The type of street doesn't set the price on its own — what does is how far the car has to go and whether the job needs a flatbed instead of a standard hook. Ask for a number when you call rather than assume a tight block automatically costs more; sometimes a straightforward flatbed pull off a one-way street is a shorter job than untangling a car from a packed highway shoulder. A job that needs the longer pull described above, out of a true dead-end alley, generally runs more than a straightforward flatbed load — not because of the neighborhood, but because of the extra time on scene.
